Where to Push Coax thru Firewall

    Hey Everyone,

I drive a 2002 defender. And trying to install radio. Where do I push the Coax through the firewall. Without doing any damage.

    Cheers.

I usually thread it through one of the existing grommets.

    .

Surely Dave , you cannot be serious.

Stretched grommets are one of the most dangerous things you can do to a Defender. It is downright dangerous let alone foolhardy and will upset the radial ergonometer.
Proper procedure is surely to thread the wire through the heater intake and core. This ensures the wire is kept warm and safe.

ahh yes, but you forgot that the compression induced by the action of the grommet contracting onto the wire squeezes down the wire size forcing the electrons to accelerate through the restriction (same as when you put your finger on the end of a hose) this electron acceleration gives the radio more range.

But you never took into account that squeezing the coax will lengthen the radio waves traveling through it and and change the frequency.
