Lots of people start by saying pull off the facia, but from where and how
I have a 2006 TDV6SE and want to get at the back of the radio to put in an AUX socket for an ipod
Just dont know where to start pulling on the dash

Reason: spelling
have a look around, there was a post on this somewhere yesterday, about the same thing but you dont have to take the radio out, the passenger foot well has some wires you tap into for ipod connection. someone else will be able to help you better than this though
For $20 on ebay i bought an ipod FM transmitter
You plug the ipod and charger into the power socket, set it and your radio to a frequency that is not being used and bingo
You can even park another car close by, choose the same frequency and hear it as well
Dick Smith etc sell them as well but charge up to $100
No wonder Australian manufacturing is going down the gurgler

I pulled the fascia off and the top of the centre console last weekend to run some additional 12v power and reversing camera cable.
Getting the fascia off is more about bravery than technique
Start at the bottom and pull directly back from both sides at once. The bottom clips will pop. Move about half way up or where you can get leverage and repeat. The top isn't held in by a metal clip but just slotted in. That comes out last. 4 metal clips in total.
I found that wiring directly into the AV (via the connector in the passenger well) gives a better and more reliable sound than a FM transmitter that I was using previously.
Here is a handy guide I gound on the disco3uk site which I followed for the reverse camera install and cable routing.
Thanks ASHES, the attached PDF showed exactly where to go
Think i'll have a drink or 2 before starting, then again perhaps sobriety may stop clips flying everywhere
