    Radio plus sat nav equals.....

    Static.....

    Anybody else having a problem with their defenders radio stations getting signal when a sat nav is plugged in to the cig lighter?

    I have had it on the FM band only, and only when...
    a. I was in an area of low signal strength and
    b. I was using one of those el-cheapo cig plug/USB adaptors.

    other adaptors have been fine, and no problems when close to town.

    It's probably the cheap & nasty switch mode power supply inside the cigarette lighter plug causing the interference. I've seen it with cheap mobile phone chargers and USB adapters too.

    I've had some sucess with mobile chargers by wrapping the power lead round a ferrite bead.
