Hi guys I'm in the process of modding my bullbar to take Hella rallye 4000 lights.

I've noted you can get special lock nuts. I ws thinking these maybe a good idea. also by gusetting the mounts you can't get spanner in there, only sockets (which if i didn't use lock nuts I'd definetely do). haven't done that yet but think I will.

the Hella lights have 2 adjutment screws which if fully undo the lights without the mounts would be loose so able to be flogged.

inside the mounts there is the 1 centre screw for mounting the light then 2 holes on the either side of this hole still on the botom like this (|o0o|), could something be done with these?

    any ideas or other tips?

    cheers

The lock nuts can only be fitted with a socket as the ones I've seen have a multi-pin engagement system with the pins at assorted positions. The side holes could be for stabilising arms to stop vibration.

Bit hard to understand your post mate but I think I got what your after

I have a set of locknuts on the driving lights on the Disco.
Got them from Oppisite Lock, same set up as the wheel nuts.
I still think they could be undone with a chisel/screw driver and hamer.
It's about getting the 's to move on to an easier target.

On the wifes little run around I drilled both the mounting and adjusting bolts and fitted some cleave pins.
The ones you tap in/out with a hammer.
They can be loosened but not removed with out knocking out the pins.

Can you fitt linger bolts to the ones for adjusting?
Maybe you could put a nyloc nut on the end inside the light then.
    Cheers, Kyle

yeah its is a bit of dribble...

you can sort of see it in this picture. the 2 adjustments screws (the large black circles allen key screw heads)...if those are undone the light is completely separate, so the light will be gone and the mounts left.

I was thinking a small amount of wire rope inside the mounts tagging the mounts/light together would help

the 3 holes are in the mount not sure what the outside ones are for. but i think I sorted what I'm doing now
