So after programing it manually and via the software, I still can't get it to transmit or receive any thing from my discos uhf. I pick up chatter when I scan on the 6D but not anything on the uhf band?

    Am I missing something?

Just to clarify, if I set the frequency to say 477.400 (chan 40) on the 6D and sit in my car and transmit on the disco's uhf, I don't get anything rx on the 6D and vice versa.

Have I got a dud or is there a setting not correct that would do this?

    Handset is a wouxun KG-UV6D.

Thanks Wrinkle, that the exact sheet I was working off. I think the problem is more setting based.

Have you access to a uhf swr bridge ?

The output power levels may not be locked in.

    Hi Toppa,

You mention that you tried both the software and manually.

What version of the software are you using? I think the latest is 2.5

PM me your email details and I'll send you a file that should set you up correctly for 80CH UHF CB.

    Cheers,
    Iain

I'm trying to talk myself out of buying one too.. not succeeding for the same reason ($-value) but, programming the little beast is,,,, "interesting". Let's just say that two of us spent a few hours loading up the software with 80 channels.... and still managed to end up with nothing on the radio. The handbook is diabolical.

Get one that comes with a usb cable. Or buy one from the same source. Apparantly, they can also be cloned, so whoever gets theirs done first can simply 'download' their settings into another radio.
    Spend many hours on youtube.....

"The device cannot start (Code 10) error" remedy!!

I Posted this awhile ago in another thread and thought it appropriate to re-post it here..

Howdy, Thanks to your advice, I also recently purchased a KG-UVD1P with the USB programming cable - My Windows 7 PC was having all sorts of trouble accepting the driver for the USB Serial interface cable (Prolific Technologies Chipset) that was downloaded from the Wouxun website - kept coming up with a Code 10 error. Anyway, after a bit of digging around, this is a very common problem which I have been able to fix using this driver sourced from this site

Akosta Innovations » Blog Archive » Problems with Prolific driver – Solution.

I hope this saves you from the headaches I was getting!!

    Cheers

a picture is worth a thousand words - hope that this is helpful if you are manually entering your channel list?

I should add that another poster (Fluids) did all the hard work on this from a previous thread - I just copied the file and loaded it into the program... Thanks again Fluids!

    cheers
