Yeah I have my ham license, but working in Broadcast I'm hardly ever on the bands. Got some HF gear and 2 meter and a few projects etc but busy times this year, progress unlikely.

For the Foundation licence, I was tested by two assessors. One had few quals than me and the other did the BOCP (Broadcast Operator's Certificate of Proficency) with me years ago at Ultimo TAFE (or whatever it's called these days).
An alternate assessor is a member of this forum but he wasn't there that day.
This arvo I picked up a old Kenwood TS-520S from the president of the Blue Mountains AR Club - $100.
That will keep me going for a while.
does it work.....?
Well, it does on receive. I haven't tried Tx as I haven't got a suitable aerial.
I don't have a licence yet and I need to fix my Codan 7411 Mk 2 ATU. I bought it on eBay but it has been hacked about (which wasn't mentioned in the advert). (Another for the faulty goods threads?)
I can't find the circuit diagram on the 'net but VK6CS has just posted videos about it on YouTube. His videos will help fix it.
Anyway, time for bed, I'm going to the Wyong Field Day tomorrow.
I received my AOCP (Foundation) certificate from the WIA today. My callsign looks like it will be VK2FRLB.
I've fixed the Codan manual ATU. I'll go to Dural this Sunday and pick up a few things for an aerial.
I'll probably need to make an end-fed antenna system or go to a vertical on the garage metal roof.
