I did the Advanced Theory and Regs today - and passed!
So I should have a new licence and callsign soon.

Regrettably, that callsign has been reassigned.

Thanks Pete.
Pete, have you tried doing the trial exams at:
Standard
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...d/trial-exam-1
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...d/trial-exam-2
Advanced
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...d/trial-exam-1
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...d/trial-exam-2
Regulations https://www.amateurradio.com.au/licence/regulations
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...s/trial-exam-1
https://www.amateurradio.com.au/lice...s/trial-exam-2
[ame]https://www.amateurradio.com.au/sites/default/files/basicpage/RegulationsSampleQuestions.pdf[/ame]
I got a lot of those regs questions but I still didn't 100% in the exam. Know the bands one can work. Know Px and Py.
If you like I can post down a sheaf of pages of questions from the Radio and Electronics School Standard course that I was given last week. (I'll rub out the ticks I put against questions.)
I had an advantage in that I trained as radio technician with Dept of Civil Aviation (albeit 50 years ago) and I have a Broadcast Operator's Certificate of Proficiency (the old BOCP).

I studied for the standard exam, but sat for the advanced exam earlier this month. Didn't bother looking at the foundation exam. Passed both advanced theory and regulations exams. Just waiting for an opportunity to do the practical.

For those who are looking for an examiner, their details are listed on the WIA website.

Well I have the licence, but I bloody well may as well not have it
Since I moved here I can't reach the only local repeater (140Km away) no matter what antenna I try. (big hill in the path)
And HF is next to useless because the mains power is single wire earth return and gives me S9 power line noise. Yes I have tried grounding and low pass filtering. AAAAGH!!!
