Well what do you reckon Wayne ?
Are they good handy gear and useful ?
Are they quick enough cooking or heating ?
Do they have any limitations ?
Mate, I am sitting here on the edge of me seat with the curser poised over the buy now button !!!
Robert.
Ahhhh I didn't realise that you were awaiting an apraisal
They are not something you just put something in and instantly heat up.
They are good for heating pies or similar,if you put the pies in at breakfast time, and want to eat them at morning tea,or put them in at morning tea and have them at lunch.
The only thing is,that they require somewhere to mount in the vehicle, where they are away from other items,as they do get very hot on the outside.
But it is nice in winter to be able to pull up and have hot food ready to eat![]()

Is this similar to the one at Jaycar and other places?
I don't have one but I thought they were closer to $50,
you know once upon a time I thought about installing one of these, I started sorting out the engine bay to make some room to install the wiring, controls and fusing box. Unfortunately as I didnt have all the parts on hand Id had to drive the vehicle to the shops and back.
As I lent across the engine bay to reach for a tool I burnt my arm on the hot engine. Then I realised, I can be really lazy about this and just put the food in the engine bay which gets hot and not install something that takes power from the engine to heat up something in the cabin. Cool Stuff this for a game of darts, Im going for a beer.
I still put the controls and fuses in but I used them to run a fridge down the back to keep beer cold because Every one knows that very few things go better with a meat pie that tomato sauce and a cold beer.

Most cheap thermal coolers have a heat function - and they heat better than they cool.
A lot cheaper as well.

Unfortunately they don't heat up anywhere near hot enough.Anything that is meant to be hot,has to be HOT and not tepid. The Travel Buddy makes things HOT![]()
