GME Tx3540 backlight
Hi folks,
I was tuning in a receive only frequency and when I was finished I accidentally set the backlight to continually scroll through all the colours.
Turning it off doesn't help and I can't see anything about it in the manual.
I've tried changing the backlight settings and you can adjust the brightness and white level but changing the colour has no effect.
Nothing came up in google.
Any ideas?

Hey Utemad,
Gravy booby! (or maybe Groovy Baby!)
Sounds to me like you inadvertantly got into the brightness menu while you were trying to set the Rcv Only frequency. This is since they both use the Channel knob to set things.
Just to clarify, when you go thru the backlight menu, multiple presses of the Channel knob scrolls thru BKLGT, COLOR, and WHITE - correct?
Have you tried using the up and down keys rather than turning the channel knob to vary the settings? If not, maybe give that a try, or the reverse if that's what you've used so far. A short press of the channel knob when you get to a colour you like is usually all it takes to set it.
I've not heard of anyone getting stuck on a kaleidoscope display before but there's always a first time for everything.
Let us know how you get on, or any other info you think might be helpful.
Cheers,
Iain

This radio doesn't have a channel knob. It is one of the radios you control everything through the microphone.
I'm guessing I somehow have activated a demo function.
I can get into the three backlight settings you described but changing the colour does not override the scrolling of the display colour.
I'm going to call GME next week.

Oops,
Yes you did clearly state TX3540 in the title, didn't you.
Bugger. Good luck with GME. I hope they have some good suggestions to solve what afflicts your radio.
Cheers,
Iain

Within 30mins of emailing GME I had the answer.
The short version is that when you are in the display colour adjustment menu press the menu button to activate/deactivate the demo mode.
All sorted.
