so im going to put the good head unit in my run around and go find a short head unit, but how to find one? google and ebay are just not doing it for me in there search.
The only solution is to use a unit without a cd player.

I have a head unit in mine that I got from Repco that is just a radio, SD card, USB and external input. It puts out a pretty good sound (depends what you are used to) and only cost about $100 on special. The whole unit is about 100-120mm long so fits just about anywhere.

corgie carrier your spot on there is a big difference in head units without cd players (and lets be honest i stopped using cds ages ago usb and BT is the way to go)

any my head unit which wont fit is 190mm deep, i just looked around then and found Alpine Electronics of Australia which is 155mm deep. that should fit snug!
