			AUX

Had this on the D3 UK electronics forum and our British cousins say the connection is at the rear of the centre console but our export models must be different, I have a 2008 TDV6 SE with the standard radio. Decided to connect an MP3 player, book says connection is at the back of the console but nothing is there. Push the Aux button and AUX comes up on the radio so it is functioning. Does anyone know where the plug connection is hiding?

			AUX

I've done it on mine (8.5 MY). There is power at the back of the console, but aux input is in passenger footwell.

There are threads about it on here and Disco3. Can't search for it now, but can help further when I get home tonight.

 Cheers,
 Jon

					Hi Bill,

Sorry, a bit late getting home and haven't had much of a chance to do a search.
 Try this link for starters:
 DISCO4.COM - View topic - Aux connector

On our model, the panel on the back of the centre console is blank. You need to buy the panel with the power & aux sockets in it. It doesn't cost much and just clips in. The power connection is there, but the connection for the aux socket is not. You will need to run the wires from the plug behind the kick panel to the back of the centre console and connect them to the aux socket.

It was a few years ago that I did it, but I got all the info I needed from either here or Disco3.

Hope this helps to get you started. I should have more time tomorrow night if you need more info.

 Cheers,
 Jon

Part no's are in the thread linked to above. There are also some photos that show a grey connector in the footwell. There are a red, a blue and a black wire (amongst others) which terminate in this connector. They are the left, right and earth for the aux input. Run some wires from these, across the footwell and along the centre console to the panel at the back.

The new panel will have a couple of PC boards which aren't needed. Locate the inputs for the aux connector on the PC board and solder the wires to these.

You will need some torx bits to take the new panel apart and to take the bonnet lever off to access the connector behind the kickpanel.

This is all simpler than it may sound. I have taken some photos and put them in my gallery to show what I have done.

 Cheers,
 Jon
