Is it like another Telstra phone I had that had such poor reception that Telstra cancelled the contract because I refused to carry an aerial around on my back?

I don't think so,is similar to my Motorola around town, and in local reginal areas.
There are still a few other button phones around as well, but i haven't used them.

If you were closer you could borrow the one i have as i only use it on holidays when in country areas, hooked up to the external antenna.Being a very basic phone,it is difficult to even txt on it,after having a smart phone.
