    Where to mount an UHF?

Hi oh knowledgeable ones. I need to mount my new UHF radio in my 84 RRC (if it ever gets here ) The ordinary radio/CD player is under the dash to the right of the steering column. I was wondering what others have done as I can't see a suitable mounting point that is within easy reach of the drivers seat. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Dad had a graphic equiliser mounted on the left side of the steering column. Would it fit there?

I mounted mine on top of the dash in the centre. There is some sort of tray there in an '87 like mine. I then trimmed the dash mat to come over the top and glued it in place.

On a 92 , I mounted mine on the back of the console. You can reach it from there, but it intrudes a little on legroom in the back if you carry 3 people. But then mine was a big old Uniden UH11 and the new ones are small.
Has an 84 got the old type console or a plastic one?
if a plastic one there may be room under the box which can pull out , but you could not get at it.
I think I will pay extra for a CB with the controls in the mike as it gives you more options.
    Regards Philip A
