Dave it would be easiest to just get one of the portable BT units, either the earpiece ( a bit wanky ) ,cigi powered unit or full in car fitted kit.
Another option is a stereo with BT phone hookup.

Ear piece thingy I have tried and hate. Cigi powered I have tried and was no good. I do have a thing in my D1 called a blue ant which sits on the visor.

It works ok if you have good hearing, which I don't. This is the reason I would like to integrate a phone into the cars built in system.

I like my music loud when driving and can't hear the phone ring. When it rings the car will mute the sound system and then play the phone call through the speakers at a volume that can be adjusted with the wireless volume knob.

I don't want a full car kit either. I was hoping there might be something like the device for car stereo's where an after market can be integrated int the steering wheel controls.

This might be your easiest method - they're standard in many cheaper stereos these days, which also allow mp3 playing and other assorted niceties.

Depending how much you want to spend... about $90 you can get a BlueAnt voice operated speaker which clips to the sunvisor...leave your phone in your top pocket. If you read the first line in post number three you will see that I have got one of these. With my hearing it is now useless, and even when my hearing was better I still could not hear the phone ring over the vehicle's sound system.

This is why I want to intergrate a phone into the cars built in system.
