    98 Defender light upgrade

Hey all, Im looking at upgrading the driving/side lights and indicators on the front of my 1998 110.

Trying to keep it fairly simple and so far I have these 3 options:

Replace outer lenses with stock ones (current ones a little cracked and faded)

    Replace with NAS style OEM

    Replace with NAS style LED

Here is a link to some I found on Ebay.uk:

items in defender light store on eBay!

If I go for the LED, do I have to add or change anything else in the system to be compatable, or can they be simply wired in no problems?

    Any other ideas?

    cheers
    Serg

Been done to death mate - LED ones will require an LED flasher can (easy to source direct replacement for existing one) no other dramas.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Reads, do you know if the larger NAS style fit on the front?

Don't know never looked at it because I don't like them so never crossed my mind.
Hence why I went with the replacement led the same as standard land rover ones.

NAS will fit, but you need the plinths etc. They usually come in kits. The rears are ok from memory but if you use a swing away wheel carrier there can be some interference.

I just fitted the clear sidelight lenses then fitted amber blinkers and LED brake bulbs. No problems.

I like the Brooklyn wheel cover Reeds I was in there about a month before we left on our trip.

how much difference to light do the front side lamps in LED make (the ones you have)

    Are they plug and play?

Yeah they built my Blue 90 for me and they used to sponsor me in the winch challenge comps I used to do in the uk.
Nice garage , ran by Sarah ( an ex of mine ) and daughter of Mike Street owner of SHB

They sent me over the wheel cover for the 110 and Disco. I like them because they have Southampton on them.

I have not change my front ones yet.
Just the back. Will get round to it

Both my defender have clear lenses with coloured bulbs and with the sun in Brisbane was difficult to see the lights during the day so I changed them to led which makes them a lot brighter to see the brake lights and indicators.

Another reason for not changing the front was because with the ARB bull bar you can't really see the side lights and indicators on the car anyway.

And yeah they were just plug and play very very easy to fit
Mine is a 98 defender and they just plugged straight and just changed the flasher relay over, they come with instructions anyway.
