    Uniden UHF - no transmit

My trusty old Uniden UHF decided it didn't want to transmit on my last outing.
Still receives fine, but definitely not worthwhile repairing (think I paid $50 from a member on here about 7 years ago).
Is there anything agricultural I can check before I bin it?
Its got a 4-pin microphone socket if that makes any difference.

I have found that the push button on the handpiece is usually what gives up the ghost Steve. Sometimes it can be fixed by activating ( pushing) the button a number of times which gets the contacts working again, but mostly it's a replacement handpiece which makes it economically cheaper to buy a new set.
    Cheers......Brian

Thanks Brian - I'll check out the button switch first...

    Hi Steve,

Have you checked the aerial and lead.? UHFs can recieve a signal with a lousy cable/aerial however will not transmit. Check to ensure the cable/lead is securely attached at the base of the aerial.

Worth a look before expending $$s

    Rgds,

    Rob
