Hi,
I paid a lot more than that for my 300W psw inverter, but that was 12 years ago.
Cheers
Hey all,
Anyone have any experience with the inverters below?
Pure Sine Wave Inverter 300W 600W 12V 240V 5V 1 A USB Output CAR Plug | eBay
Says all the right things in the specs however is significantly cheaper than other brands which usually makes me cautious.

No experience with that one. A couple of years ago when I was looking for one with more wattage there were concerns over the quality/longevity of Chinese made PSW inverters. It may have changed in the interim but at that price it is worth a cautious try.
Personally. I wouldn't touch a cheap inverter, but that's because I've had both a cheap and a so so unit die on me very quickly after purchase and the issues with trying to claim warranty were more expensive than just letting it go. I lashed out and bought a top of the line, Australian made unit in the end which has proved awesome.
Some peeps get a good run out of these cheaper units though, and at that price, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it **** itself anyway.
Here's a link to a thread I ran when I was having issues - Inverters - WARNING - Ramblings of a ****ed off purchaser

That's exactly my conundrum. I'm thinking, as it is mainly for camping with the family , blowing up aerobed etc, I might try the cheaper option and gauge the use. If/when it dies get a better quality unit then.
One thing that is surprising is the cig plug for 300w. Projecta goes to hard wired after 150w.
The cig plug won't work for long if you try to pull 300 watts for it, it will blow a fuse in your vehicle. Allowing for the inefficiencies of the unit, you would be pulling over 25 amps DC on the input at 300 watts on the output. If you're only going to use 100 to 150 then you may get away with it.

Just received it . The cig plug has a note that states it will not work with items over 150w - makes sense although there doesn't appear to be anything that would restrict this.
Main use will be blowing up aerobed (~120w) so should be ok.
Already Looking at places to hard wire in.
Update, the cigarette plug is rubbish and will not stay in the socket. Will replace with merit. Otherwise the unit works well so far but has only done a couple of air beds.
Will follow up when it is hard wired and has been used for some longer durations.
Does anyone care to share their Suggestions/pictures of installed inverters?
Depends which vehicle you install it in. Do you drive a Defender? Is so in the seat box or centre cubby box would be good. No water, limited dust and vibration
You might be better off putting croc clips or an Anderson plug on the cable and storing it in a waterproof plastic box with your mattresses
My 2c worth
