One of the attractions to me of the Blackvue is that it doesn't have a screen. But it does include built in GPS and WiFi

I already have a reversing cam and really dont want too many more gadgets hanging around the car....this will tuck away neatly behind the mirror

The way I can view it on phone, tablet or PC or browse and save video clips via WiFi works for me. I'm still not 100% set on it..... but their software seems extremely good.

Thanks for your help everyone, ended up buying a Blackvue DR650GW-2CH, installed it today... so far I'm impressed.

I'll put up an installation post in the next few days.

So - can you watch the video from your iPhone in real time i.e. could it be used as a reversing camera? I am thinking of occasional use such as hitching my van etc.

edit: I just read this on the dashcams site - so it answers my question!

    Smartphone App
"The BlackVue App is free to download for all customers, this innovative app works on both iOS and Android devices. The camera can connect to your smartphone or tablet device using the app, once connected, the user can download footage, view a live feed, save settings and more"

    Cheers,
    Col.

You could Col, I think I'd find it a little it fiddly, as you need to connect the phone to the devices Wifi. I think I'd get tired of that fast if it was my primary reversing camera.
