Qi charge recievers and hard cases

Has anyone here fitted up a Qi charger receiver that goes outside the phone body but inside the phone cover, especially a hard cover?

I'm looking at a new phone and its down to 3 only one of which has Qi built in as standard (and is the most expensive phone does what I want and a heap I dont), the second has it available as fittable inside the battery case (with not great reviews as to how effective it is, is the middle range priced phone BUT doesnt do a whole lot more than the cheapest phone) and the third as it has and ally case can only have Qi as an external fitup.(and this phone is the cheapest, does exactly what I want but runs the risk of case damage and getting drowned/dusted)

given the exposure my phones get and how hard I am on the waterproofing of the seals on the cases and the plug in jacks for the charger Im hoping to hear that yes the external Qi cards fit in the waterproof casings so I can layout for the phone now and get the bits I need a little later when the budget recovers.

If I have to, while I want to buy the cheaper of the phones and then case it up (which is the same additional cost of doing it to the mid price phone) to armour it against my hamfistedness and the tropics, Id rather press my temp phone into prolonged service till I can afford to do it right the first time.

I have previously used a Samsung Galaxy S4 with the insert, and currently have a Galaxy S5 with the genuine replacement Qi back cover so that it keeps it IP rated. Works well, although only charges at a maximum of 500mA, not the 1A that the wall charger or car charger do. Good for stopping the phone going flat, but takes a while to get a decent charge from flat.

I have my S5 in just a rugged case as the phone is already IP67 rated, and even without screen protectors I haven't cracked a screen yet. I just use either a flap case or like my current one, have a 4mm lip on the case so it can fall flat onto concrete etc without damage

thats the midrange priced phone, to get the charger is the same cost as is the casing, the cheaper phone is more battery friendly and given how I normally use the phone the slower charge rate of the Qi isnt a problem.

What I really need to know is do the external to the phone but fits inside the casing adaptors interfere with the waterproofing and fitting of the hardcasings

I bought my genuine Qi rear cover for $16 BNIB off eBay. It is a little thicker than a standard rear cover, but has the waterproofing seal. With a little persuasion it fits in the regular rugged case. Now, if you fit the aftermarket Qi charging receiver inside a standard back, it makes it bulge so I wouldn't trust the original waterproofing anymore. I have no idea though about using a waterproof case with either, as I have submerged my phone and know that Samsung's rear covers(both Qi and non) are watertight, so haven't bothered with one. On my S4 the rear cover was never clipping on properly with the Qi receiver, which is why I went with a proper cover with the S5

the S6 with the inbuilt Qi is the high price phone.
the S5 with an additional back cover is the medium price phone
the HTC m9 is the low end phone but Im considering an M8 as well.

while the waterproofing of the samsungs is good enough unfortunately they arent as hamfist proof as Id like them to be, especially for what I do with them and the number of knocks they get in my job. so Im after the better protection.

The S6 is pushing the friendship of my budget
the s5 new on the last go round was more expensive than I could get an M9 for
the M9 bundle I was looking at includes a battery tank and additional memory card for less than the S5 and gets me more processing horsepower plus keeps me on a htc platform.(and I'm a fan but not that big a fan If I cant up the protection factor enough to prevent me from killing or drowning it that I wont move to another platform and learn that)

specifically, this was the case I was looking at for the m9

HTC One M9 Active Waterproof Case review | Android Central

and this is the Qi reciver I was thinking about

Micro USB Qi Wireless Charging Receiver Card - HTC One Mini 2

although I'm seeing some places that are advertising 750m charge and 1A charge in the google subtext when Im searching for them but they are turning out to be the consumption figures or not for the htc one range.

Theres a number of reviews out there of people who support that the pad and socket fit into their casing but none of them appear to be proper waterproof casings which is specifically what Im trying to pin down.
