Hi noone, good to hear, make sure you share your experience/results in the future. Im still waiting on some of the speakers to arrive from overseas, so i dont have any progress to report.

Initially i was gonna go the DIY route, but im afraid my lack of experience could end up with me messing something up, taking far too long, or unable to put things back together properly. Also when it comes to applying the dynamat im thinking an experienced installer would yield better results and more efficient use of time.

Im thinking the more challenging part may be getting the shop to understand what im trying to do, and keep them from insisting on installing spacers, or making modifications to the vehicle. So im thinking i will just shop around and try to find someone that understands what im trying to do and has an open mind. Also, i have an almond interior, which means i have to be extra careful and get the right person for the job.

    Cam,
Just read through 14 pages of this thread & remembered when the Discovery 4 was released. A few months passed & people wanted to update/upgrade their tiny screen to the touch screen & nav systems & have not seen a thread at all on it....or missed it with googley eyes now

Have you done a monochrome small screen upgrade to a touchscreen with nav to 10/11 MY as they have the same wiring architecture?

    Cheers

I haven't done it myself, however with the 2010-2011 you might be in luck.

The touchscreen in these cars is basically a standalone unit, and I've seen some people over in the UK have even retrofitted the screen from the 10-11 D4 into an earlier D3.

Unlike the earlier or later infotainment systems, the "brains" are in the screen itself.

There are a couple of issues though.

You need to get a screen from an Australian car, there are different version for different markets. Also the maps for the nav are stored in a drive inside the screen itself.

You will struggle to get any updated maps too, since updates are only possible using the special hard drive tool that the dealers have, and I don't have one of those, they cost $3000 to buy...

If you wanted to add the screen to get the better infotainment interface, 4x4 info and so on, it could be worthwhile. But for maps you will be stuck with whatever is in there.

Finding an Australian screen at a "reasonable" price might also be a challenge.

But it's not impossible to retrofit.

    G’day Cam
Last night I started looking at the gear you sent.
I also checked the CCF on the IID Tool, and confirmed there are 3 options for turning on SAT radio. Ta Pete

Hi mate, according to the Russians, it's only software / CCF change in the Disco Sport, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

So I have the navigation / rear camera touch screen in my D4, but i don't get the details of the audio system showing on the smaller B&W screen near the speedo/tacho. Does anyone know if it's possible to add that somehow?
