All I can say is align your carrier with the phone - make sure the phone will support the frequency/technology the likes of Optus/Telstra etc offer. Requires a bit of research. Also - the carrier deal will be the biggest opportunity to save $ - keep an eye out for deals (the Vaya one I had was a special one).

My Oppo works on both Optus and Telstra so aligning doesn't seem to be an issue. Office Supplies is selling them. Mine is better than my previous Samsung.

The charge port on my Oukitel died and a few repairers i contacted wouldnt touch it, going to look at ruggedised phone like a HomTop or other chinese brand.

The charging port in my old Samsung S4 died a little while back - I took it to the Chinese Mobile phone kiosk in my shopping mall and he replaced it with its circuitry with a new one in about 10 mins for $70.

That's because its on a separate PCB , on my phone it I'd on the main board. As I already said some places wouldn't touch it.

I am surprised - back in 2010 Ranga was doing some cheap Chinese GPS that could run Oziexplorer - mine got bounced around in the 101 and the charging port (micro usb) came off the mother board - again the local Chinese Mobile Phone Kiosk was able to put a new one into the mother board.

I guess if your having no luck finding anyone they have stopped doing this sort of delicate solder work.

They're not too hard to solder back on.
I've got a Sony Experia that has the same micro USB port issue. The major problem is pulling the phone apart.

I've had to solder my Qi charger(base) back, as the holder used to fall off the window on hot days, and I'd forget to remove the cable.
So the cable would take the brunt of the falling holder. After a few falls it's inevitable that the micro usb port would fail. I've soldered it twice now and it's playing up again.

Ended up finding another brand of Qi charger base now, that uses a normal power port coming from a cig lighter socket instead.

Have replaced them before but this one is refusing to budge.
