Hi Ranga and solar ( via a solar regulator if the panel is bigger than 10w ) is actually the best way possible to charge/maintain any type of lead acid battery.
Is a solar panel topping up deep cycle auxiliary battery enough to keep it in good condition, or should I put it on a recharger every so often?
This battery lives in my Trayon camper, and rarely gets drawn down, and when it does, rarely to the put of it being flat. The attached solar panel floats it every day.

This is how the boat batteries are kept alive..
