I think i may have a dead (or dying) aux battery in the D1.

80ah AC Delco dual purpose/marine/deep cycle, 3yrs old, 40L Engel in and running 24/7. charged in car by VSR, regulary charged via either solar panels or switchmode charger when let sit. Was run flat (7 volts) once about 2 months ago.

I have now hooked up with a LVD which is supose to disconnect at 11.1V. If i let the fridge run till the LVD switches (havn't tested this voltage), i get about half a day and the battery will recover to a voltage of 12.3 - 12.5v.

Is this pointing to a battery with well reduced AH capacity?

Is 3 yrs with this sort of use reasonable?

Should i replace it with same, or AGM (its under the bonnet)?

It may be just a coincidence, but 2 weeks ago i came home to a blown circuit breaker in the house. Culprit turned out to be the Projecta charger connected to the Disco's aux battery....something cuput inside it.

Cheers
Rick
