As with all stainless steel whips of this style, it is not recommended for installation on diesel 4WD vehicles.

I assume it is because of work hardening and failure due to the engine vibration. However, I have been using them on both the 2a (petrol) and the County (Isuzu!) for twenty-five years, and have only had one failure. Can't remember which vehicle it was on, probably the County. But I would have thought that corrugations would be worse than the diesel engine vibration! And vibration from the engine varies widely, not just because of the engine type, but habitual driving speeds etc.
I have observed on both my vehicles severe vibration of the antenna due to turbulent airflow ehen it has accumulated a good lump of ice from high humidity or fog in freezing conditions!
