    New Auxiliary Battery search

So, it seems the 120Ah AGM deep cycle from my camper may have packed it in. Went and retrieved it today, to notice it was reading 7.76V Not sure why, it doesn;t get much use and is normally constantly on the solar charge when not in use. This time, it sat idle for 3 weeks (or I thought) without the solar. No idea what caused it to plunge, given the only draw was the solar regulator LCD panel.

Anyway, should it be kapput, I'm wondering what to replace it with. Is lithium a real option yet? Is lead crystal the real deal? Or do I just grab another tried and tested AGM?

    Any suggestions?

LiFePO4 is still about $12-1400 for a 100ah (equivalent of 160ah AGM battery in useable capacity)..

Hi Ranga, do you have an electric winch fitted, if so, go for a Yellowtop.

If no winch, then a Lead Crystal is your best option.

Lead Crystal batteries can be left unused or uncharged for many months, so they might be better for your specific type of use.

Have a look at the link below and let me know which Lead Crystal you are interested in and I will give you a quote.

BTW, I think you will find the biggest Lead Crystal battery that will fit under your seat is the 6-CNFJ-65, which is a 72Ah battery.

Had the same happen to my caravan, 2 x 100 amp batteries connected to solar reg and both went flat, real flat. My regulator turned out to be stuffed and was letting the panels back feed. All fixed with a new regulator

    Hi Tim,
This is for inside the slide on camper, so no winching. I'd be interested in the 6-CNFJ-100 or 120.
