Aldi Deep Cycle Battery

I dont do "shopping" (wifes job) nor do i go into any of those stores like woolies.
The one exception is i do however go into aldi with the wife.
Just because of that center isle and there knick knacks they sell cheap.

And yes i did eye off those batteries. Im in the market to get 3 but was a little unsure of them so passed them on.

What surprises me is how often old guys are standing around the knick knack isle, often for long periods of time just talking to themselves and looking at screws and what not.
I think people in the older years use it as a day out or something :firedevil:

Aldi does not send it’s profits overseas. All their profit is used, at this time, to expand their outlets in Australia.

As to the battery. If you want a battery that specific size, then I guess the price is about average, but larger batteries well known batteries are around the same dollar per Ah.

Apparently a lot of the goods are produced in Oz but might show as a different brand, but packaging is similar so you don't need to be Hercule Poirot to figure it out. Never had a problem with their quality.

Then you have staff wages also going back into the Oz economy, but what I do like most, & it may be only in their latest stores, is the noise suppressing flooring & ceiling treatments, not to mention the Air Cond. ceiling diffusers that seem to spread air evenly & not a gale in one or two directions like some places. ie. A square T bar outlet embedded with a louvered circular discharge.

But you can't get everything you want at Aldi, which means a trip to another Supermarket but hey ho, cest la vie.

There are worse things in this world these days.

Aldi is owned by 1 family (Overseas). While I know they use Aussie products and invest lots here, hire staff etc, ultimately the profits head back OS. It isn't a listed company like the 2 majors so you can't buy shares or anything in it. I get why people shop there but it isn't for me that's for sure. I spend my money in the local Foodworks which is owned by a family that lives in the town. I buy Aussie made or grown at all times when it is an option - which is most of the time if you look hard enough and are prepared to pay a few dollars more which I am.

Absolutely there are worse things, and I have no dramas with those that shop there, it just isn't my cup of tea and it's just my 2 cents. [emoji106][emoji4]

Repco is also a private company which ( I believe) is overseas owned.
Btw: so is every car manufacturer.

So, what's so special about Aldi?

Most family's will spend well over $10K a year on groceries, so after their mortgage, it is often their largest expense. I get why people shop there to save a dollar, but FYI - I don't shop at Repco either, and have only ever bought one new car in my life and while I have no choice but to send me money OS when I but a car, or on some other items too, but when I can help it in other ways and choose to by spending what I can on companies that are locally owned - be it the supermarket, local suppliers, etc.

I'm not saying I'm perfect - I buy stuff from OS on occasions even when a similar product may be available here, and have done recently but that saved me over $500 so yep, everyone has a price. As I said before, I've no issues with anyone that shops there and get why they do - that's what competition and choice is all about but Aldi is just one place I choose not to is all. [smilebigeye]
