Hi Fi Component for Wireless Audio etc

Hi All,

apologies out of the way first;

1) Could be the wrong section of the forum, and,
2) Terminology will be terrible

Anyhoo - I'm after a component to plug into my Yamaha amp/JBL's which will allow me to stream through the amp. Bonus points for any other features. I have no idea what I'm looking for. Prefer not to spend an arm and a leg too.

My Marantz amp from about 10 years ago has a module that plugged into it for Bluetooth. What model/age is your amp?

Its a 20yo Yamaha amp. The back has a heap of analogue points - no digital. The amp was new around the time Dolby Surround (6 channel) came in.

I think I'll get one of those for myself and another for my daughter (she has my old Harmon Kardon system and Wharfedale speakers).

Have just ordered one myself as well. Will do some testing of frequency range and dynamic response between streamed music versus uncompressed when it arrives - just out of interest as I've set up my old Hifi system and it leaves my new higher end system for dead when playing records or CD's.

I have one very similar to this.

Bluetooth(R) 4.1 Transmitter & Receiver | Jaycar Electronics

Works great for what I want it for. I use it between a few older stereos around the house for bluetooth input functionality.

That's very similar to what I have on my Marantz unit but my old NAD pre amp is waaaaaay before HDMI was ever thought of so need RCA output.

I just found that it's also sold under the Logitech brand for twice as much.

Have received the unit I linked earlier - easy to use and works well. Very small and can be stuck to the back of the hifi so it’s out of the way. Comes with power adaptor and RCA lead so ready to go.
