    Hard wired compressor wiring.

So now that i have my compressor, air tank and fittings mounted its time to run the wiring. Should i use a relay with this since most if not all the portable compressors available don't have one in the cabling ?

Yes, keeps the high current out of the cabin and through the relay contacts and your switch will be happier with the low draw of the relay coil not causing arcing as the switch flicks on/off.
