Thread: Broken AM/SSB radio?

G'day all,

On Sat. I am starting our journey up to the tip. Over the weekend I picked up a new antenna for my spare radio (Pearce-Simpson Super Cheetah MkIII 27Mhz AM/SSB radio).

Upon putting the antenna on I couldn't get the radio to work - well, nobody responded to my "radio checks" and I couldn't hear anyone. So far the best I've managed to achieve is I can see the needle more when I transmit.

Unfortunately I have no manual for this radio, but it was working fine before my friend accidentally snapped the last antenna off a few years ago

Anyone in BrisVegas able to help me diagnose wtf is going on before the end of this week?

If not it will have to wait until we get back from the Cape....

Whoops, pls ignore this thread as problem was solved.

I had the wrong antenna type (27Mhz marine instead of 27Mhz land)
