    Searching for replacement 12V cable/connector

I have one of those 12V eskies with a mild heating and cooling capacity built into the lid.
Only trouble is the cable has disappeared (probably in our last house move 13 years ago).

Is it possible to get replacements? My initial searching suggests not.

It's a reversible twin pin at the esky end and the cable socket has red on one side and blue on the other to identify/connect for heating and cooling modes respectively. There are no locating "indents" like most units so you can't put it in back to front, just a full width pin separator at the pin end.

No brand name, just on the maker of the fan that I tried for internet searching, but nothing on the (compressor?) or the actual esky.

Flat or round pins as I have had success with other items by slipping spade lugs onto flat pins, or cable joining ferrules onto round pins, insulated are pro'ly best.

    Search spade | Jaycar Electronics

Typing "fridge cables" into Jaycar's search function also bring up some for Waeco, Engel and Brass Monkey types.

A photo of the cooler/heater and perhaps a brand would help a lot…

A photo of the socket where the cable plugs in would be good.

I recently replaced the melted socket on my old cheap(ish) cooler. What I used were Anderson PowerPoles in a custom 3D printed socket and screwed that into the case. I can take a pic tomorrow. I might be able to get my friend who 3D-printed the socket to do one for you. Actually, I might have a spare in the garage. I think he made 2 for me.

Yeah - went to Jaycar and was told it was a specialist connector, and they had nothing to suit and no idea where to go.

Pix attached now that I've found my camera.

I just had a look. The spare 3D-printed part was a different one.

This what the one I fitted looks like installed.

Gavin, maybe try your phone instead of your camera 😜

My pic was taken with my phone.

Thanks Ron. I suspect the easiest fix is to replace the female socket on the lid with an easily sourced version with matching cable with CIG/Anderson connections.

Gavin, could you not replace the plug on the appliance, with two easily sourced plugs, wired in opposite polarity?

Replace like Ron has and then fit a switch to reverse the polarity.
