    G'Day All,

So Im wondering if there is a list of repeaters that can be used for an area. In this case Im in Hamilton Vic & Marie in Portland Vic.....can anybody tell us which channels we can use rather running up the phone bill please?

These are the two lists I use to determine my closes repeater. Not familiar with VIC so you will have to see ;-)

Why not get one of those mobile phone deals that allows dirt cheap calls between two particular (or more) mobiles? Only needs to be one as the not cheap one can call and hang up for the other to call back.

If you have an ABN Telstra does a business deal that gives you 10c per 10mins I think. If you have 5 phones or more then it is free between the phones for any length of time. We have the latter deal but started with the first one.

Makes for a more private call than a UHF repeater.

Optus do a plan that give FREE 20 min calls between linked mobiles. Must have an ABN to attach the bill for both to. We did this when I was travelling all states for work.

I remember now that the 4 phone and under plan was free for 10mins.

All you need is an ABN and to have all the mobiles on the same bill.

An added bonus is that all the normal calls you make are also at a cheaper rate on business plans when compared to the same personal plans.

Using the CB repeaters everyone else will hear you also - not very private.

Telstra presently have on its business plan, two phones linked can talk for 3 Minutes free (thats enough to ask the wife "Did you pick up the beer")

    or

If you want to talk longer the STD rate is now 20 minutes for $2.00

    or

So the rest of the world can hear you, there is a repeater station for Channel 1 UHF at Mt Rouse in Penshurst
