There are 'nipples' either side of the main loom passing through the firewall.
Cut the end off one of them and feed the coax through.
Just received my GME radio & arial in the post and am like a little kid wanting to fit the kit.
I have strewn through our wonderful web-site and have found posts about mounting the CB Radio in the cabin, but non pertaining to where to bring the coax cable in.
So, to avoid my making the inevitable mistakes, do you have a good (water tightish) place to recommend passing the coax cable through the firewall? Is there some plug already available, or do I need to drill a new hole?
I want to mount the arial in the pre-drilled hole on the passenger side of my ARB bar.
Hope you can give me some guidance so that I may install the unit tonight....
Thanks,
Auke

and it can somtimes be easier if you poke a coathanger wire or something through from the cabin side, then tape the coax to it and pull it back through
It's a bit harder if the plug is already connected to the coax. If that's the case it's probably better to cut off the plug and fit a new one later. ( that's if you are adept at fitting the coax connectors - if not probably better to try and push the whole plug through - the rubber will stretch quite a bit ).
After you're done, put a bit of butyl mastic around the penetration point to seal it up..
to check if everything's working, try to find out if there's a local repeater on channel 1-8 in your area - then go to that channel in "duplex" mode and see if you can "hit" the repeater. just push the ptt switch and you'll hear a squelch "tail" come back- you can normally give a radio check request and someone will respond.

On t firewall below the inertia switch there is a big 'gommet'
Just put a small hole in that and push the cable through.
This is where I ran my coax.
I will pop out and take a pic and post it.
