    Aftermarket batteries for DSLR

Last week i passed 5 years of service at work and for that i get to by myself a pressie . I now have a Canon 30D SLR to go with the 24-85 and 100-300mm lenses i already have but as it only came with 1 battery i want to get another as a spare, looking at them on ebay but for $10 or so i cant see them being too crash hot. Anyone bought a battery of ebay that is doing what it should ?

    thanks,
    Nick.

I bought a cheap aftermarket Olympus battery [hong kong import] for my mum when she went o/s. After full charging it would come up with the battery flat symbol as soon as it was turned on and then subsequently shut down. It also leaked a clear gel into an otherwise perfectly good camera. Long story short, the battery is now dumped in Landfill somewhere in Italy.
