Yes they have and no not impossible, you can't put it next the the Turbo, BUT, It can be put side by side with the main battery.

Or can be fitted in one of the back storage bins.

Has anyone fitted a duel battery system under the bonnet of a Disco II Td5 ES. I'm told it is impossible due to the rear air conditioning compressor unit and pipes etc around the space near the turbo where the second battery would normally sit?
Hasanyone had any success in moving stuff around?

I like the look of the two orange batteries side by side. You don't happen to know the capcity of each battery do you. And, where do the jack and ECU(?) / SLABS(?) go? I'm trying to save space so moving if putting in the batteries like this means I have to put the jack and ECU(?) / SLABS(?) in the back of the vehicle I may just put the battery inside in stead?
If that's the case then, why haven't Defenders burnt to the ground
They have batteries side by side under the drivers seat
Stewie they are optima red tops, very expensive, but supposed to be very good.
As yours is a 7 seater, they aren't many options, apart from this or the ACE cradle on the passenger chassis rail, if you don't have ACE/SLS.

I see bcf have a battrey box with BUILTIN smart charger. I havent checked it out but maybe ok for portable type power.![]()
I've read a few of these posts (5 years worth---),, and after thinking about it for a while(5 years---),, if I needed a second battery it would be a GEL battery, mounted under the car on the chassis.
just my 2 cents worth,,![]()

Is that a Christmas joke???
Where on earth could you safely mount a battery on the underside of a Land Rover chassis? It wouldnt last 5 minutes before it got ripped off - unless of course it only takes the kids to school, then you wouldnt need two in the first place!
Also, whats wrong with two side by side in the engine bay? Come to think of it Ive also see Disco's with a battery in the same location as the original but on the opposite wing - granted a bit more work involved in that with Disco IIs.
