    running wires in 2000 defender

Hi folks, I have just bought a 2000 model 110 wagon and the first thing on the hit list is the stereo as 2 tiny speakers are just not gonna cut it. Removing the standard eurovox tape deck was easy enough but I encountered issues when it came time to run cables from the rear seat (where I plan to place speakers and amps etc) throught to the head unit in the dash. I was hoping to run the wires under the rubber mats past the cuddy box, past the gear sticks and fuse box then up into the dash but was unable to find a space big enough to pass the cables through.

The plan is to run speaker wire, rca cables, uhf wires and some nokia car kits wires through to the head unit / dash. Has anyone encountered and overcome this problem?

I ran mine along the back of the dash from the stereo up inside the A pillar either side and then along the roof channel to the speakers in speaker boxes at roof level right at the back. The hardest part was removing the roofing plugs to feed it through this part of the roof to where the alpine windows start. From here the channel is simple to lay it in and secure.
