is it a 12v 240v compressor or a 3 way gas 12v 240v
Can anyone tell me how many amps my 75 litre autofidge draws?
is it a 12v 240v compressor or a 3 way gas 12v 240v
When running in my Kamper I can drop between 2% and 15% per 24 hours of my battery reserve (210Ah) depending on ambient temperature (<0 to >45C). This is with the Autofridge running on about 1.5 on the dial.
Unfortunately I never have actually looked at what it is drawing on the power monitoring system. The fridge is currently out of the Kamper so I can't just run it and check. If you're worried about wiring mine's wired in through a 20A plug.

Amps or Amp/hours?
Mine draws about 4 to 5 amps while running, it's supposed to use about 20Amp/hours using it as eutectic and around 25 Amp/hours as a normal fridge (both over a 24 hour period)
Does that help?

Sorry for taking so long to get back, been busy up in the high country.
Thanks Fraser 130 that's exactly what I was after. Now I can purchase a battery to suit.
Cheers
How does this work? if the fridge uses 5 amps while running and if it was to run for one hour then it would be 5 amps per hour. If it were to run for 1/2 the time then it would be 2.5 amps per hour, etc. for the 25 Amp/hour as a normal fridge does this mean that it runs at 25 amps for a whole hour? or is that meant to be a bit over an amp for every hour therefore over 24 hours the equivalent of drawing 25 amps in an hour?
Battery capacity is sometimes stated as AmpHours e.g. 100 AmpHour battery can theoretically deliver 1 amp for 100 hours or 100 Amps for one hour. So I am not sure I understand the answer.![]()
20 to 25 Amps for a 24 hour period therefore if the battery is rated 100 amp/hour you theoretically can get 4-5 days but you won't. In my experience 2-3 days is all you will get out of a 100 amp/hour battery before the low voltage cutout in your fridge shuts you down. Deep Cell batteries shoudn't be drawn down to more than half there rating anyway (if you want to keep them in good nick) so really i would expect 2 days before you should be charging. Of course the fridge amp per hour usuage will vary depending on model, ambient temp, open and closing etc ......... and you can get more days out of the battery if you keep putting charge back in solar (80w is what you need to maintain a fridge and lighting) or a generator with a decent charger.

Sorry Slug burner, If the compressor were to run continuosly for the whole hour, it would draw 5 Amp/hours from the battery over that period. The 2 figures I gave were total usage over a 24 hour period, ie, the compressor may only be running for 1/4 of the time it is actually turned on etc,
So the red bit above is correct! It's an average over the whole 24 hours, because it may only be drawing 5 amps for 30 mins every 2 hours!
Make sense?
