iphone connectivity in D3
Hello to all at AULRO.
I just purchased a 2005 D3 TDV6 HSE.
The car has the GPS/phone option with the wiring into the centre console but no cradle.
My iphone connects well through bluetooth but i was wondering if there is a specific cradle to improve signal strength and recharge the battery. I have searched via the net and not found any references to such a cradle.
Kind regards,
Andrew

I use a Belkin Tune-base. There are a couple, FM and cable.
Not sure how the D3 is set-up, but I drive a truck and the cable version does me fine.
Both units plug into your cig. lighter and are supposed to not move around.
I found this to be crap and added an extra socket to the side of my dash and glued the bugger in.
Charges, answers calls and plays iPod stuff. Recently downloaded Foxtel from iTunes and for a 18 bucks a month I can watch TV while I'm stuck in traffic (Telstra 3G only). Awesome.
Works a treat.
Oh, forgot, I also have TTS turn-by-turn GPS on the same setup.

There is no cradle available for the i-phone for the D3.
There were only a small number made to suit early Nokia phones, then they did away with the cradle option & did bluetooth connectivity only.
If u do want something to hold/charge etc then this may be an option, highly recommended.

The Kensington looks like a good option. I'm leaning to the Alpine EX-10 unit which at around $130 posted looks like great value with the phone integration plus color iPod dash screen which means the iPod can get stashed out the way.
Be a shame not to have the steering wheel controls do the controlling though... might need some doctoring... I've just got this week a TDV6 HSE 2005... what a beast.
Cheers.

don't know whether this will integrate with a D3 but might be worth emailing the company.

Bury communications do an I phone kit.
There are various options right thru to full wired in kit.
I have one for a Nokia E51 - cradle, charging, external antenna etc.
Here is their web site.
