    Mail handling programs

Outlook gives me the irrits but are there alternatives?

I've heard of Thunderbird but I use Google Chrome not Mozilla is that an issue ?
    (I like Chrome)

What's out there and how goods are they ?

My missus is used to Outlook and will not tolerate change easily so what's a good option given that point of view ?

    Tell me and convince me.

Someone has to say it so...

You could always switch to Mac

But seriously I haven't used anything but Outlook and now Mac OS X Mail and iCal.

Actually the big problem you will strike is when you do transfer from Outlook is the ability (or lack there off) of straightforward conversion of your PST file to the new application. It's not always straight forward

It is quite possible to use Outlook for the Calendar etc, and something else for e-mail. Just cancel the e-mail accounts in Outlook when you have migrated the data.

Thunderbird is pretty good for e-mail and can be used on its own.

    Cheers,

T/bird craps all over outlook/outlook express for functionality and you can train it to auto delete spam and other junk mail.

FWIW I use Opera for my browser & email.

I have found it works well on XP & Win7, and haven't had any major problems with it.

The only thing to be aware of is that it doesn't appear to have a calendar in it.
