I run an i7 with 12gb Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

When batching jobs in Adobe Lightroom the system is actually quicker than it was with 6gb.

Besides ram is cheap why not fill the slots.

It was the best I could do for a grand. Add that I'm running linux (with windows XP in a VM when I need it) - and the performance is better than the alternative, so I'm happy.
