No idea.
But, you can always turn it off after the tutorial. I'm pretty sure it doesn't sneak bandwidth when it's turned off.
I have never used skype but I did search the skype site and can not find a straight answer as to how much internet usage you get stung with when using it. It is a long story but "someone" is doing year 12. Tutoring is available using skype but I would like to know if my monthly internet plan will cope or will it be blown in the first hour? If anyone has some ideas of internet MB consumption on skype it would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation

i find DU Meter a great program for monitoring usage current and totals.
Hi,
provided you turn off 'always load skype on startup' and quit out of it when you finish using it, you should have no problems.
You can text friends with skype to their mobile to get them to see if they are free to skype if they also use this frugal trick.
cheers
This is a good idea. It also answers a couple of questions that I didn't know I had...
Also, have a read of this from the Skype T & C's

i run skype most the time. it barely uses anything at all. admittedly i havent read the thread link posted but from my own experience it uses 5-10kb/s for voice and more for video.
i think their subscriptions are great value if you can utilize them.
Skype is great. My usage (voice only) is not noticeable.
Best thing I did was buy a Skype phone. Picks up from any wireless network you have access to, don't need to have my computer turned on to use it.
yeah one of those would be great, ive looked at a few. there's more and more around quite reasonably priced too.
