So I got SWMBO the Macbook Pro today although she doesn't know it yet
Setup went well but I'm lost on this issue.
I have a Vista PC who's HDD acts as the central data drive for our ever-growing computer network. Currently all our computers (1 Vista laptop, 1 XP laptop, 1 XP PC and 1 Vista PC) all have access to the C drive of the Vista PC which acts as a data drive and is what I backup.
Q: How do I "map" (in MS terms) this drive to the Macbook? In other words, SWMBO will want to see the Vista PC C drive.
I searched through the p!@$ poor online and pdf help docs for the Macbook with no result. Another example of manuals written for those who already know what they're doing (I thought only MS did this)
Cheers.
In Finder from menu GO>Connect to Server... enter "smb://[computer name]". This should then show all shares visible on the PC.
The biggest issue is usually getting windows to share the drive or folders.
