    navman woes

Well, having followed directions I have deleted my existing maps off my unit. Where to next? It defies all attempt to load any new map. Can anyone help? My gps is a Navman MY50T. Jim

I assume you are taking about the 3 year free map upgrades Navman promotes. I own a MY 55T but have not yet tried updating any maps so can't help directly in that department but thinking that one day I might update I took note of this thread on Whirlpool from a little while ago. It seems others have similar problems.

"Not sure if this will help, but i recently updated a couple of MY50T's and used this process, downloaded the email update pdf and 2010 map update (my50t not connected)

after complete turned on gps connected to PC open navdesk, waited a moment pop up came up with update list.
clicked link for navdesk update, it opened ie8 window with d/l links seleted navdesk (not mio). to save target.

when complete selected smartst update, clicked link for smartst update, it opened ie8 window with d/l links seleted save target.

When complete closed all other windows (navdesk still open/active gps still connected) and ran navdesk update exe, when update finished selected restart later, closed all windows (safely remove hardware) gps and moved slider to reset once unit had booted to accept/decline screen, shut down PC.

Started PC when fully booted turned on gps and connected once booted to accept/decline screen, started navdesk when booted ran smartst update, once finished closed all windows (safely remove hardware) gps and moved slider to reset once unit had booted to accept/decline screen, shut down PC.

Started PC when fully booted turned on gps and connected once booted to accept/decline screen, started navdesk when booted followed procedures laid out in Navman_MY-Series_Map_Update_AUS pdf file.

Some of the icons cane be difficult to find at first when following the update steps but had the pdf open when doing it so refered back for clarity.

Hope this helps with the proceedure for update, i found it worked flawlessly for me with the units i updated.

Also i only ran the navdesk update once when updating from same PC, but ran the smartst update for every unit prior to running the 2010 map updates.

    Hope this help "

Hmmm - seems you have double posted and I have double replied thinking something must have gone wrong when I hit the submit button.

Not really sure your going to get any more or better answers by posting in more than forum.
