Why can't I post up an image?

I'm trying to post an image in thread and once I paste in the URL, no picture, just a little square box.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Cheers,

    Franz

    Franz,
click the little landscape icon ("insert image") above the text box that you're typing in and then past the URL in the popup.

    or

    type ""
    ..... without the "

    good luck
    Stevo

    .......................... reread the Question.......

do you have the correct URL for the image or are you using the page URL ???
right click the image, click "properties" and copy the image's URL from the properties box.

    Hi Stevo,

That's what I'm doing - still no image.

    Cheers,

Is the image hosted somewhere on the 'net or are you trying to put one up from your PC?

    Franz,

I use www.photobucket.com to host my images, and they all come up perfectly, using the method described above.

You definitely need a photo hosting website to get your pictures up onto the internet for others to see.

No, you don't. You can post directly from your PC by using the "Manage Attachments" button below the text area of the message you are creating.

    Ron,

I've tried both Shutterfly and Photobucket with the same result (or lack thereof!)

    Cheers,

    Ron,

Thanks, the managed attachments worked fine - at least I have some pics up now.

Now for stage 2 - I would love to have a large pic embedded within the text of a post rather than an attached thumbnail which opens in a seperate window when clicked on.

Will have another go later using the other method recommended by Stevo.

Thanks for all the tips guys.

    Cheers,

    Franz
