    Window/Linux

I've just done a reorganisation of my PC, swapped a couple of drives around and reinstalled windows and Ubunto as a dual boot system.

As a result I have a windows folder sitting on another drive that I want to get rid of and just use that drive for data (don't want to format at the moment because of other stuff on the drive).

Windows won't let me delete the old folder (I need permission from the trusted installer) what is the easiest way to delete it, I'm sure I've been down this path in the past although not Win7 and am just missing some basic step.

    Assistance appreciated.

If you boot into Ubuntu you should be able to delete it from there - may have to use a command line to do it. (I have no experience with Windows 7, but I don't believe MS have changed the NTFS format.)

Used Johns suggestion, that got rid of most of it (there was some that it said couldn't delete), but then I was able to go back to windows and delete the rest from there.

Now to work out how to install more updated version of thunderbird etc (Ubunto installed version 2)

This way makes it pretty easy.

I have used it for FF, but not for TB.

Thanks - updated both of them easily, doesn't keep any profile info though had to re setup thunderbird, but thats not much of a problem (all mailboxes are on another drive)
