Thread: Mpeg4 youtube uploads

Hi all,Iknow stuff all about 'puters,but Ive been posting some rail videos on u-tube,leaving them in mpeg2,which takes 90min+ for 5min.Soooo,I googled my problem and found mpeg4 is much quicker and simillar quality.Tried this and quality is very good but screen aspect went from 16-9 (orignal format) to a squashed 4-3,I'm using Pinnacle edditting software,also mpeg4 uses "quicktime",could this be the cause??.It's an old Dell pc ,getting a mac soon,but this is driving me crazy .....any ideas before I set fire to it

H.246+AAC(TS) - I think that is the HD codec which enables you to create HD video.

It is also worth trying a simple program like VLC media player, it is a free download and I use it extensively. IT has a convert media function which I have rarely used, but has been easy enough when I did use it. All of the common codecs are part of the standard free download.

I use it to play youtube clips from my hardrive. I dig them out of the cache directory, change the file name and add the appropriate extension, and play them in VLC! Easy!
