    .mov editor or converter

    Does anyone have recommendations for a (preferably free or inexpensive) .mov editor? I don't need it to do anything fancy - just edit out the bits I want from larger files.

    Failing that, does anyone have and recommendations for a converter to change .mov to .avi or .wmv etc? Again, nothing fancy required.

    Windows movie maker is free with windows and very easy to use.

    You can convert file formats using VLC media player, which is brilliant. It is free, and plays more movie formats than any player I have ever come accross. It will also convert from almost any, to almost any format. There is a seperate download for the codex which allows you to create HD video, google will help you find it - I can't remember where I got it from now.

    You can get Leawo maybe Leawoo free version or a paid version. I currently have DVD to Avi and Avi convertor and they are the most reliable program I have tried. I find it better than even VLC.
