    safari freezes

    Hi all,
    About once a fortnight,my webpage(especially aulro website),freezes in the middle,but the outer sides go down when I'm scrolling down the page.
    Then when I hit the back button,the page goes into a psyedelic kaleidoscope of colour.
    Only bought this macbook pro(13") in july last year.
    Am wondering whether the harddrive is on its way out,or could it be something else.

    Would expect that later in the year, but it's not that cold yet

    Normally I'd be suggesting a video driver, but with a mac .

    you guys are so just so funny NOT

    the mac sits on my little table by my sofa,i wheel the table around to work on it,then when i have finished for the night ,i close the lid,turn the modem off and wheel it back to the side of the sofa.BUT i still get the weird psyhedelic pics every now and then.
    Can somebody explain how the XXXX i get these and what can I do to stop them.

    Could be h/w but more likely to be s/w. Have a look at the linked site and search it as you would AULRO. Here is an example.

    The fact that it happens "especially with AULRO" is interesting. It is the slowest page I access anywhere on the web (NB I am not complaining - just stating a fact) maybe there are "time-out" issues somewhere in the system.
    Also, try getting tech help from your ISP if all else fails.

    down load the right version of "onyx" from macupdate.com to suit your OS

    quite surprising what it can fix at times.

    as for page speeds...

    aulro is housed at pipenetworks in brisbane and for many is a free download, data wise.

    some isp's have smaller links into pipe networks than others and in some cases that is the only explanation i can find for some people getting pages very slowly while others on at the same time get pages very quickly.

    only the css files are cached on aulro because content is dynamic and constantly changing or being updated and presented with ajax etc etc.

    in peak hours the server does definitely struggle to deal with the request rate, but not during the day, generally speaking.
