    email problem

I have a major drama and need help.

A pop up window with my email details titled "Enter Network password" is CONSTANTLY popping up on my computer, for most of my email accounts.

Even when I give it the correct password and tick the "remember password" box it doesn't matter... keeps coming up.

Outlook seems to be downloading mail, at least for most of the accounst as far as I can tell, as normal.

As I type this post it has happened, without exaggeration 8 times... so far.

Even when I close outlook (there is still an icon in the system tray for some reason.

It's bloody infuriating - any advice people can offer greatfully received !

I've attached a couple of screenshots in case they help.

    Cheers

Ok no kidding up to about 20 times while typing this post !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Probably not what you want, but I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird when my Outlook went haywire. You ask it to import everything from Outlook and you're away. I've never looked back!

    Been there, seen that...

Best solution that I have found is to go into your email settings, and re-enter it all from scratch.

Might pay to change your email password while you are there.

For some reason, this seems to fix it. Why it happens, who knows.

A pretty usual occurence. Quickest way is to remove all your accounts and re-add.

    Create a new outlook profile.

There is a way to solve it by editing the registry but I'm not gonna attempt to outline that here.. ;-)

Similar happens to me occasionally. Often it is because I have left email active on the iPhone. Close it on the phone and home computer works fine again.

something like that was happing to me, it was because i had a email address that had been cancelled with my isp but i still had the address and all its contents on my computer it only stopped when i got rid of the email address from my computer, thinking back i should have just deleted the logon details for that address

I happens because outlook caches passwords. My guess is that this has happened ever since your last password change? It is supposed to refresh the cashed information each day, but as usuall with Microsof there is a bug. Either upgrade, or re-enter the passwords for the account which is active when the error comes up.
