new hard drive system still freezes??
Hi all,
Have got a Toshiba Satellite Pro.The old hard drive caught a bug that I couldnt get rid ,so I purchased a new hard drive.
Put the disks(2) in it to load up the old software, then it comes to the microsoft bit where you load your local settings.
Bugger me the system bloody freezes when I get to the what country..grrrrrrr
Shut it off - boot it back up and it freezes again...
Obviously it isnt the hard drive.I dont want to get rid of it,so is it hard to replace the inards of it with new bits and then go from there?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Cheers

Sounds like a dodgie disk
Make an image of the disk and see if it crashes if it doesnt just reburn it and install from the new disk

Power supply or cooling fans are the usual laptop problems.
Your bios might have an option to run the cpu at low speed, which might mean the fan doesn't come on, which might tell you, if it boots without, that the fan is clogged or stuffed.
