Ahhh if its a PS/2 port then the port may be turned off in the BIOS or blown. (dead)
If its a USB mouse then try different ports, check device manager etc.
Because I dabble in computer repairs I am often given a computer which has a problem to solve. I found one outside my front door today with no note on it. My problem is that the mouse doesn't work. I swapped for one of mine but it still does not work. Computer boots up ok and as far as I can see it only has a mouse problem. It is a Dell Dimension 2350. Any suggestions as for mouse problem? Jim

Well there you go, and I always thought the colour coding was for mum and dad rather than hardwiring.
